Divemaster — SSI
Transform your passion into a career! The SSI Divemaster certification is your first step toward a professional career in diving. Guide, inspire, and share your love of the sea at the most beautiful dive sites in the world.
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 18 years old
- A medical certificate of fitness to dive (issued within the last year)
- At least 40 logged dives totalling a minimum of 25 hours to begin the programme
- Own a complete set of personal diving equipment
- The following certifications are required:
- Diver Stress & Rescue (or equivalent from a recognised agency)
- React Right or a first aid certificate including oxygen administration and AED, issued within the last 2 years
- Deep Diving (or equivalent from a recognised agency)
- Navigation (or equivalent from a recognised agency)
- Night & Limited Visibility (or equivalent from a recognised agency)
Certification Requirements:
- Complete 50 dives and 32 hours of diving to obtain the SSI Dive Guide certification
- Complete 60 dives, 40 hours of diving, and validate the Science of Diving specialty to obtain the SSI Divemaster certification
- Approximately 45 hours of theory sessions and practical evaluations
- Take out professional liability insurance
- Maintain active status with SSI (SSI Professional Obligations)
